President of Ohio Valley Athletic Conference and Indiana Collegiate Conference; was appointed Chairman of Indiana State Athletic Conference 1941-1944 by Governor Henry Shrickler; was a member of the Chicago Tribune 150 Club (football coaches having 150 or more career wins); inducted into the Memorial High School Athletic Hall of Fame, posthumously, with the inaugural class of 2012.
Coach Ping never married.
Coaching Experience: Introduced football at Carrollton, KY, 1922-1924; coached at Marshall, IN, HS 1924-1930 and Reitz Memorial 1930-1945; also coached baseball at Evansville College 20 seasons.

Coaching Honors: During 15 years at Reitz Memorial, his team won 8 city championships and tied for 2 others; compiled a 122-17-10 record from 1934 until the 3rd game of the 1938 season; won 40 consecutive games; was athletic director for 19 years at Evansville College and head football coach 1946-1954; voted "Favorite Professor" by the student body in 1963.
