Joe Reitz represents the very best of what it means to be an Indiana High School student-athlete. A standout two-sport athlete at Hamilton Southeastern high School, Joe was a two-year starter in football, earning All-State honors in 2003, and a force on the basketball court, where he was named an Indiana All-Star in 2004.
Western Michigan University, Indiana University, Northwestern University
B.S. in Finance, M.S. in Business Administration, Certified Financial Planner
2008
Joe played basketball at Western Michigan and started the most games in school history (126 games). He is the school's fifth leading scorer with 1713 points and third in rebounding with 939. Joe was a three-time All-MAC standout, and three-times named Academic All-MAC. Twice he was named an Academic All-American.
Joe was the Colts Ed Block Courage Award winner in 2015 and was the Colts Walter Payton Man of the Year in 2016.
Joe and his wife, Jill have eight children: Juliana, A.J., Virginia, Johnny, Hannah, Pete, Ruth and Samuel.
After the end of his basketball season at WMU he was contacted by the Baltimore Ravens and made the amazing transition to professional football. Joe was able to be one of the few people in professional football who could not only attempt to make the transition from college basketball to professional football but succeed in the NFL. Joe did it for nine years. One of the best things about Joe's NFL journey was how he was able to circle back to his home state of Indiana and play six seasons with the Indianapolis Colts.
Joe had a 9-year career in the NFL as an offensive lineman, with the Baltimore Ravens from 2008-2010 and the Indianapolis Colts from 2010-2016. He appeared in 73 games and started 44. Joe started at 5 different positions in his career, left tackle, left guard, right guard, right tackle and tight end.
