Inducted into the Tell City High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006; awarded the Governors Award for Excellence in Service from Governor Mitch Daniels in September, 2012, for 50 years of service as team physician for Tell City athletes.

Merit Contributor - Team Physician: Was part of football all over southern Indiana for over 48 years; cooperated with the Tell City/Troy Township football program far and beyond the normal practicing physician by stopping by the practice field to check on players who were injured or being rehabilitated; opened his office at odd hours whenever necessary to treat athletes and work the sidelines at both home and away contests; at least twice a year, provided athletes of Perry County schools a chance to be examined for their IHSAA sports physicals free of charge; participated in symposiums on sports medicine that kept him very much aware of the latest techniques in the treatment of athletic related injuries.
