Served as athletic director at Greenwood HS 3 years; taught biology, physical education, health, and drivers education before serving as assistant principal 26 years; Washington HS Alumni of the Year; Greenwood HS Hall of Fame inductee; served on Greenwood Park Board; after retiring from teaching, served on Greenwood School Board.

Coaching Experience: Varsity assistant football coach at Washington HS, Indianapolis, 1953; Greenwood HS head football coach 1958-1968 and 1981-1996; varsity assistant football coach at Whiteland HS 1998-2010; career record of 162-105-9; also served as assistant basketball coach 1 year, head track coach 5 years, and head wrestling coach 2 years.

Coaching Honors: 8 Mid State Conference titles; 3 Sectional and 2 Regional titles; 17 winning seasons as a head coach; All-Star coach for South squad 1988-1989; 6-time Johnson County Coach of the Year; Indianapolis Star Coach of the Year 1989; 40-year service plaque from IFCA.

Outstanding Players Coached: 1958-1969 John Machlett, Jack Farley, Sam Yuska, Jim Anthony, Phil Wenning, and many others; 1981-1996 Tom Vandergiff, Mike Warner, Kelly Talbott, Kevin Talbott, James Hogan, and many others.
