Promoter of Indiana High School Football All-Star games; instrumental in play-off system becoming a reality in Indiana; served as Athletic Director at Jimtown HS 1968-1977 and as assistant principal 1978-1988.
Wife, Peggy; children, Dianna, Lisa, and Gene Alan.
Coaching Experience: Football coach at Madison Grant (Fairmont) 4 years; assistant football coach 1961-1968 at Jimtown, then head coach 1968 to 1976, with a record of 76-16-2; also coached baseball, basketball, and track.
Coaching Honors: On 35 occasions, opponent was held scoreless; had 3 undefeated teams 1968, 1970, and 1976; won Northern State Conference 5 of 9 years; District Coach of the Year 1972 and 1976; on coaching staff of North All-Star Team 1976.
Outstanding Players Coached: Doug Simper, Jack Fearnow, Bob Loomis, Rafer Crenshaw, King Dancler, Alan Johnson, Alan Perky, Ricky Robinson, Gene Skirvin, and John Campbell.
