Josh Smith easily has a claim as one of, if not the most dominant players in the history of Indiana High School Football. His statistics and accolades speak for themselves, but they do not tell the complete story of what Josh Smith meant to the Attica and surrounding communities. A tireless worker across multiple sports, he set a standard of excellence not only on the field and court, but in the classroom and in his personal life as well. His dedication and work ethic made him an excellent example to young student-athletes across the area. Further, he continued his football career at the United States Naval Academy where he excelled as a multiple year starter at defensive back. His selfless decision to serve and defend his country as an officer in the United States Navy epitomizes a life spent striving for excellence, not just for himself, bur for his family, community and country.
