Merit Contributor - Administrator: Spent 21 years as Superintendent of Schools at Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation in Mishawaka, putting a plan in place to develop extra-curricular activities and sports, particularly football; prior to becoming superintendent, Penn's football record was 60-85-5 over 15 years, with no championships; after becoming superintendent and hiring key coaches, making financial commitments to the facilities, equipment, and feeder programs, Penn's record has been 475-80-0 over the next 45 years, including the following championships - 37 Northern Indiana Conference, 24 Sectional, 17 Regional, 11 Semi-State, and 5 State Championships, along with 6 runner-up titles; most importantly, this same commitment was made to all sports, extra-curricular, and academic programs during his tenure of building programs.
