Lettered at halfback, quarterback, and end each year; was the leading receiver and tackler in 1947; made first team All-Northeastern Indiana High School Conference and All-State; in senior year as end, ran for 314 yards in 30 attempts for a phenomenal 10+ average per carry; added to this, had 18 pass receptions for 204 yards and 5 TDs.

Lettered 3 years as defensive end; started last 2 years and was the Wildcats leading tackler both years; in his senior year, was chosen the team MVP and finished third in the balloting for the Chicago Tribune Big Ten Conference MVP; president of fraternity 1951-1952; Senior Men's Honorary-DERV 1952.
Served as Vice-President Special Markets for Whirlpool Corp. in St. Joseph, MI; retired in 1990.
