Earned 3 varsity letters in football as defensive tackle; named All-Indiana Collegiate Conference 3 times; helped BSU to 2 Grantland Rice Bowls 1965, 1967; selected as Team Captain and MVP 1967; helped team to a 23-4-2 record in 3 years he played under Indiana Football Hall of Fame coach Ray Louthen; runner-up for Stan Musial Award, which goes to Most Outstanding Athlete in the Country who is also a Sigma Tau Gamma, 1967.
Selected to the Ball State Athletic Hall of Fame 1993; inducted into the Indiana High School Wrestling Hall of Fame; served as an IHSAA wrestling official 1975-1986; officiated in 4 IHSAA Wrestling State Finals; taught Advanced Biology at North Montgomery HS for many years.
