4-year letterman; set single season rushing record of 1,346 yards that lasted 47 years; set then school single game rushing record of 236 yards and a record of 17 TDs in a season; team MVP, All-Conference, All-Area, and All-State Fullback 1959; also earned state runner-up heavy weight wrestling title 1960.

Full scholarship to Miami; played offensive guard and defensive nose guard; 3-year letterman; played in 1961 Liberty Bowl and 1962 Gotham Bowl.
Assistant football coach at Valparaiso 1966; assistant coach at LaPorte 1967-1981, then head coach 1982-1989; taught PE, retiring in 2004 after 39 years; co-founder of LaPorte Slicer Football Association, raising over $100,000 in support of Slicer football community; inducted into Slicer Football Hall of Fame 1986 and LaPorte High School Huber Hall of Fame 2010.
