Finished 9-1 his senior season. Out of the top 18 rushers in the state his senior year he was ranked #1 with 193 carries, 1142 yards and averaged 5.9 yards per carry with 16 touchdowns. Munster finished 7th in the year's final poll.

David lettered all four years at Franklin, and they won the Heartland Collegiate Conference in his junior and senior years.
Calumet Region All-Star, UPI 1st Team RB and AP Honorable Mention All-State, Kiwanis Athlete of the Year, Captain of his football and baseball teams.
David and his wife Patti have 3 children, Nick, Kirsten and Brittney.
David's biggest game occurred not on the gridiron, but in the halls of the Norton Cancer Center. In 2020 David found out he had a rare but aggressive form of Lymphoma MCL. David underwent a clinical trial in Nashville at the Vanderbilt Cancer Center. They opened up their clinical trial for CAR T and David was accepted as the first of eight to the program. Over the next several months he attended testing. He spent 43 days at Vanderbilt completing the CAR T. 30 days after the procedure, David was declared in complete remission. This was the biggest victory to date in his life.
