Required all players to wear face protectors before it was made mandatory; was first to fake with the ball instead of with the hand; officiated in football, basketball, and wrestling for over 35 years; was frequent speaker at football banquets.
Coaching Experience: Assistant football coach at Broad Ripple, Indianapolis, 1937-1940; won City Title in 1937; head coach of Wabash Community 1941-1962; won CIAC Conference once; runner-up many times.
Coaching Honors: Won more than 100 games at same school; lectured at IHSAA Coaching School; received recognition plaques from Wabash Community Clubs on three occasions.
