Earned 10 varsity letters with 3 in football, 3 in wrestling, 4 in track; as a starter, led team in many offensive and defensive categories his senior year; named MVP and selected as running back on 1966 Northern Indiana Conference football team; received Elks Outstanding Athlete Award; played in State's first All-Star game 1967; MVP of Goshen wrestling team senior year and was team captain; set a school pole vault record of 12' 7" in 1966 which was broken in 1970.

Played running back and free safety.
Joined the coaching staff at New Prairie under the leadership of 1st year head coach Ken Mirer; became head coach of the Cougars in 1974 when Mirer returned to Goshen; son, Blain, participated in the 1990 All-Star Game, 23 years after his father.
Children, Brian, Bradley, and Blain.
Merit Contributor - Administrator: Became assistant principal and athletic director at New Prairie in 1981; was named principal of Jimtown HS in 1987 where he remains today; credited with running numerous IHSAA tournament games, designing and helping construct practice football fields, designing and installing a press box for the football field, and supervising the overall refurbishing of the main football facilty.
