Starting center and team captain 1966; All-Big Ten Conference Honor at center 1966; played in the Senior Blue-Gray Bowl 1966.
After football career ended, returned to Richmond and became a restaurant owner, with restaurants in Richmond, New Castle, and Connersville for several years; volunteered countless hours over 30 years working with centers on the Richmond HS football teams; 6 of these tutored young men went on to be All-State Centers; presented/demonstrated the art of long snapping at football camps and clinics throughout Indiana, including Hub Etchison's clinic and Jay Fry's Camp America; presented the Zora G. Clevenger Award from Indiana University in 1995 for outstanding contributions to Indiana University through service to its athletic program.
Wife, Laura; children, Lori (John), Kelly (Matt), and Bo (Carrie); step-daughter, Bryn-Ellyn; grandchildren, Jackson, Blake, Davin, James, Mason, Olivia, Trace, and Crew.
Professional Athletic Background: Drafted in the 5th round by the Philadelphia Eagles in 1967; also spent time briefly with Detroit Lions and Cincinnati Bengals; had an opportunity to sign with the Canadian Football League but opted to sign with an NFL team.
