Served in US Army; was an educator in Mill Creek, Rolling Prarie, and East Gary schools prior to becoming coach at Noll; was athletic director at Bishop Noll while coaching football; inducted into Hammond Sports Hall of Fame 2008.

Coaching Experience: 26 years as head coach at Bishop Noll, with a 162-97 record at time of his induction; 3 years assistant football defensive coordinator at Lake Station; 3 years assistant football defensive coordinator at Rolling Prairie; also coached basketball and baseball 2 years at Mill Creek in LaPorte County.

Coaching Honors: IFCA Coach of the Year in 1989; Lake Shore Conference Coach of the Year 7 times; Ball State Alumni Coach of the Year in 1989; The Times, Post Tribune, and Compass Coach of the Year; Indiana State Champions in Class 3A in 1989; 2-time North All-Star head coach; was Noll's longest serving and winningest football coach.

Outstanding Players Coached: Wally Kasprzycki, Marc Ferry, Paul Smilgius, Mike Knight, Joe Angyus, Joe Skubisz, Rusty Setzer, and Rich Sobilo.
