First team All-Twin City, All-Northern Indiana Conference; All-State Left Tackle in 1937; captain of baseball and basketball teams 1937 and 1938.

In 1941, Negro All-American Star and All-American Football Team; also member of the 1942 Chicago Tribune College All-Star team; one of famed Hawkeye "Iron Men" that played 60 minutes of every game, upsetting Notre Dame, as well as University of Minnesota, National Champions at the time.

Professional Athletic Background: Played with the Oakland Giants.

Coaching Experience: Head coach and member of the athletic department faculty at Central State University, Wilberforce, OH, for 25 years until his death; record of 61-53-3.

Coaching Honors: In September 1975, was selected as an assistant coach of the East Team for the Fourth Annual All-Ohio Shrine Bowl; after a 1974 tornado destroyed the Central State campus, a new gymnasium was built and named in honor of Coach Walker in June of 1978.
