Served as Head Coach and Athletic Director at Ball State for 3 years; served on AFCA National Rules Committee; speaker at multiple coaches clinics in Indiana and nationally; involved with Football Coaches Association in state and nation; works for Athletec in Clearwater, FL, for computer video editing for major universities and professional teams, including Florida, Nebraska, seven of Big Ten Conference schools; works with ChemStation in Indianapolis, a chemical company for industrial sales, ranking in Top 10 in sales nationally for 9 consequetive years; has served as a radio analyst with Moutaineer Sports Network (WVU Football) for 10 years; has done TV work as a Bowl Specialist at each bowl game including Music Citiy Bowl (Ely Manning), Continental Tire Bowl (Al Groh), Gator Bowl vs. Maryland; Gator Bowl vs. Florida State (Bobby Bowden), Sugar Bowl (Mark Richt), Gator Bowl vs. Georgia Tech, Fiesta Bowl vs Oklahoma, Meineke Car Care Bowl, and Gator Bowl vs Florida State (Bobby Bowden's last game); serves as a college football consultant.

Professional Athletic Background: Turned down an offer to coach with Minnesota Vikings, choosing college coaching instead.

Coaching Experience: Bowling Green University graduate assistant for varsity and freshman football 1 year; Iowa Wesleyan College offensive football coordinator, assistant basketball coach and head baseball coach 3 years; Central Michigan University varsity assistant and freshman head coach 1 year; Ball State University offensive coordinator, working with quarterbacks, running backs, receivers first year and offensive line next two years; Colorado University quarterback/receivers coach and recruiting coordinator 4 years; Ball State Head Coach 7 years; Ball State Athletic Director 3 years; West Virginia University assistant head coach and offensive coordinator/quarterback coach 7 years.

Coaching Honors: Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year 1978; AFCA National Coaching Staff of Year Award 1988; coached in 5 bowls, including Bluebonnet Bowl and Orange Bowl while at Colorado and Sun Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, and Gator Bowl while at West Virginia; MAC Coach of the Year 1978 with 10-1 record; NCAA Recruiting Committee with Top 12 Football Coaches and Top 12 Basketball Coaches nationally.

Outstanding Players Coached: Over 50 players in NFL; 38 players to NFL in 4 years; Major Harriss (2-time Heisman candidate and College Football Hall of Fame); Hasselbeck, Logan, Brock, and others.
