Voted by student body as "Kingsman of the Year" 1980; varsity letters - 3 in football, 2 in basketball, 2 in baseball; football junior year - 1097 rushing yards and 8 TD's, Junior All-State 1st Team Running Back, NIC All-Conference 2nd Team Running Back; football senior year - Kiwanis Penn High School Athlete of Year, AP and UPI All-State 1st Team Running Back, South Bend Tribune NIC Most Valuable Player, WSBT Metro Offensive Player of the Year, Team MVP on Offense, 1109 rushing yards and 23 TD's; set records for career scoring (31 TD's - 186 points), single season scoring record (23 TD's - 138 points), longest punt return of 65 yards, first Penn back to have consecutive 1000 yard rushing seasons.

Coaching Experience: Offensive coordinator at South Bend Adams 3 years; Adams won 1 NIC Championship and had a 19-9 record; offensive coordinator 21 years at Jimtown HS; Jimtown has won 4 State Championships (including back-to-back 15-0 seasons in 1997 and 1998), 1 State Runner-up, 9 Semi-State appearances, 9 Regional Championships, 15 Sectional appearances, and Conference Champions 18 times; also coached basketball 24 years, softball/baseball 8 years, track 5 years, and golf 5 years.

Coaching Honors: 2007 Indiana Football Digest "Griddy Award" as Offensive Assistant Coach of the Year, with only one assistant coach selected for this honor each year from among all 5 classes in the state.
