Served in US Navy 1943-1945; Supervisor of Adult Education in South Bend 1959-1963; Athletic Director of new South Bend Jackson HS, where he inaugurated and implemented a very successful athletic program 1966-1975; in 1975, became Athletic Director of South Bend Riley HS due to closing of Jackson HS; retired in 1976.
First wife, Esther (deceased); second wife, Margaret; children, Patrick, Pamela, and Michael.
Coaching Experience: Assistant football coach 1 year at Richmond University, Richmond, VA; assistant coach at South Bend Central HS 1941-1943; assistant coach at South Bend Adams HS 1945-1948; head coach at South Bend Washington HS 1948-1958, with record of 67-26-8.

Coaching Honors: Twin City Championship 1949; ENIHSC Conference Championship 1952 and 1955; NIHSC Conference and Indiana State Championship with an undefeated team 1953; Notre Dame Club of St. Joseph Valley Coach of the Year 1952.
