Coaching Experience: St. Benedict Junior High 1957-1961, with a record of 37-1-1; assistant coach defense at Evansville Rex Mundi HS 1961-1972; assistant coach defense at Evansville Mater Dei HS 1972-1975; head coach at Evansville Mater Dei HS 1975-1996; career coaching record of 133-106.
Coaching Honors: Coach of the Year for Downtown Quarterback Club 3 times; Coach of the Year by Evansville Courier 2 times, by Evansville Press 2 times, and by Region 9 2 times; University of Evansville Varsity Club; only coach at Mater Dei to have an undefeated regular season 10-0 in 1984; won 7 Sectional titles, 4 Regional titles, 1 Semi-State title, and was Class 2AA State Finalist in 1994.
Outstanding Players Coached: Bob Griese, Rex Mundi; Pete Emmert, Chris Schaefer, and Rob Maurer, Mater Dei; all were All-State players.
