Coaching Experience: Coached football, wrestling, and track at Hammond Clark Junior/Senior HS 1971-1981, serving as head football coach 1979-1980; assistant football coach at Merrillville HS 1981-1996, then head coach 1997-2005, with a record of 68-34.

Coaching Honors: Lake Shore Conference Co-Coach of the Year 1980; Merrillville HS 2001 Indianapolis Colts Coach of the Week; Sectional Runner-up 2003; DAC Champions 2004; Class 5A Sectional Champions 2004, 2005; Class 5A Regional Champions and Final Four 2005; Indiana Football Coaches Association Region 1 North All-Star Team assistant coach 2002, 2006; Region 1 Coach of the Year 2005.

Outstanding Players Coached: Jamel Williams, U of Nebraska All-American; Eugene Wilson, New England Patriots; Jason Coriano, U of St. Francis; had 12 players on Division 1 teams 2009; several players with special honors - 3 HS All-Americans, 11 IFCA Top 50 All-State, 24 All-State, 8 AP All-State honors, 11 North All-Stars, 44 DAC All-Conference, 43 All-Area, 4 Players of the Year, and 8 Academic All-State; 1 player participated in US Army East-West All-American Bowl.
