Kyle was the recipient of the Lilly Endowment Scholarship of Grant County. He was named "Scholar Athlete of the Year" by the Joe Tiller Chapter of the National Football Foundation along with being on the "National Team of Distinction". Turnachick was a two-time IFCA All-State player as both a linebacker in 2021 and a running back in 2022. He was named by the IFCA as a Region 5 All-Star as well as Academic All-State. the NHSSCA selected Kyle as an All-American.
Kyle volunteered as a youth football coach, a Unified football coach, and a youth basketball coach in his time at Oak Hill. He served in his church by working with the elementary kids and being a small group leader. Kyle also went on numerous mission trips including a Hurricane Harvey Relief trip to Houston, Texas, multiple trips to Mountain Mission School in Virginia, and a trip to Jamaica. He also was on the Loft Leadership Committee at Converse Church of Christ.
Kyle graduated with a 4.11 GPA to rank him Top 5 of his class. He was recipient of the Lilly Endowment Scholarship of Grant County. He was a member of the National Honors Society and graduated with an Academic Honors diploma. Turnachick was the recipient of the 2023 NFF Northwest Chapter Scholar Athlete of the Year.
In his time playing football at Oak Hill, Kyle broke over 10 school records including becoming the all-time leader in rushing yards as well as touchdowns. He was a 4-year varsity letterman in football and earned 11 varsity letters overall, including his time playing basketball and running track. Kyle was a 2-time team captain on the football team. He also was a 2-time All-Conference running back. Turnachick was voted All-State in both 2021 and 2022 by the IFCA. He finished his career with 5,302 rushing yards with a 7.7 yards per carry average and 96 touchdowns.
Kyle plans to attend Taylor University and continue his academic and football career. He will study Biology Pre-Med with hope of entering the medical field.
