Attended Northwestern on a football scholarship. Received his Bachelor's degree in Political Science.
PAC Coach of the Year in 1977. South All-Star Coach in 1977. SIAC Coach of the Year in 1978, 1980 and 1981 at Reitz High School. Marion County Coach of the Year in 1985 and 1988 while coaching at Lawrence Central High School. In 1990, Bob was Milwaukee's Coach of the Year. In 1990 and 1991 he was the Wichita, Kansas Coach of the Year. He was President of the Kansas Coaches Association in 1991. He earned IPSAC Coach of the Year awards in 2008, 2010, and 2011 while at Broad Ripple.
Bob was the IPS Director of Middle School and High School football from 2011-2018. He was the IPS liaison to the Indianapolis Colts from 2011-2023. Bob was an NFL Scout for Cowboys, BEARS, LIONS, EAGLES, STEELERS AND TITANS. His overall record was 190-87.
