Three-year varsity linebacker defensive captain. 1974 NCAA Division III semi-playoff finalist. Played for Hall of Fame Coaches Jim Byers, Nick Voris.
As a coach and during tenure as the Principal and Assistant Superintendent for Warren Central High School and Warren Township Schools, the Warriors won eight state championships under four different head coaches including successive​​​​ championships in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006. Additionally, formed the Indiana Grid Classic Game,​​​​ and the scheduling of top Ohio teams​gave substance,​​​​ respect, notoriety, and opportunity to those who played​​​​ the game and Indiana High School football.
