Lettered 3 years at Goshen and was on an offensive line that helped the team set school rushing records that still stand. He was selected as a captain in his senior year by his teammates. 199s.6 Regional Champion

David was a four-year starter at BSU. Team captain in 2002 and All-MAC second team in 2002.
While at Goshen, David was named All Northern Lakes Conference twice and first team all-state as a senior. Was named to the IFCA Top 50 and Bloomington Herald-Telephone Top 33. Selected to the North/South All-Star game where he was voted team captain of the North squad. Region 2 MVP.
David played professionally for the Cologne Centurions in 2003, Detroit Lions in 2003-04, Chicago Bears in 2004 and New York Giants in 2005.
David began his coaching career as an assistant at Ball State in 2005-06. He moved to Columbus East in 2006 and was part of two State Championship teams (2013, 2017) and a State Runner-up (2016). He was an assistant coach for the North/South All-Star game in 2014
