Officiated high school and college football games; assistant director of athletics to Red Mackey until Red Mackey’s death in 1971; Athletic Ticket Manager at Purdue 1960-1971; inducted into Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame 1971 and St. Joseph's College Sports Hall of Fame 1972; served as mayor of West Lafayette, IN, after leaving Purdue.
Professional Athletic Background: Played semi–pro football with Kokomo American Legion team 1927-1928.
Coaching Experience: Head football coach at Cathedral HS, Indianapolis, 1928-1938, winning state football title in 1931; head football coach at St. Joseph College 1938-1943, winning ICC Football Championships 1941, 1942; varsity football line coach at Purdue University 1943-1946; also coached basketball and baseball.
Coaching Honors: City Champions 4 times in 10 years while at Cathedral; undefeated in 21 games at St. Joseph College; Purdue went undefeated, untied and became Big 10 and National Champions 1943.
