Was a trustee of the Pop Warner Little Scholars, INC; a member of National Sporting Goods Manufacturing Association and inducted into that Hall of Fame 2002 posthumously; served World War II as a Navy lieutenant in the South Pacific 1943-1946; inducted into ISU's Athletics Hall of Fame with the inaugural class of 1982; named an ISU Distinguished Alumni 1974; inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame and the Indiana State Athletics Hall of Fame; served on the Board of Directors for both the Indiana Basketball and the Indiana Football Halls of Fame; renowned as Indiana's most dedicated and respected friend of coaches, players, and football programs, spending over forty years making unselfish and lasting contributions in the advancement of Indiana football at all playing levels.
Merit Contributor - Inventor: Granted patents in United States and Canada for helmet face guards along with the attachment of the guard; holds registered trademarks for Super Pro, Swing-a-way, Junior Pro, and Full Cage face guards; attained state and national acclaim as a sales manager of athletic equipment and for his development of the nation's most used face guard; National Athletic Trainers Association, in recognition of his expertise to help eliminate facial and oral injuries, made him a Distinguished Honorary Member; by invitation, attended state and national rules committees as an advisor in safety for improved playing equipment.
