Coaching Experience: Coached at Emmerich Manual Training HS, Indianapolis, 1940-1942; coached football, basketball, and baseball at Cathedral HS, Indianapolis 1943; went to Semi-Finals in sectional basketball 1943; won 6, lost 4 in football 1943; coached New Castle HS, with record of 15-13 (est) 1944-1947; La Porte HS 1947-1952, with record 17-18-1; Elkhart HS 1952-1966, with record of 85-45-6 and 19-1 record for years 1963-1964.

Coaching Honors: Named Coach of the Year 1963; won first State crown in 25 years in 1963 at Elkhart; was 2nd in state in 1964.
