Served as a teacher at Portage HS 1956-1990; was an assistant football coach at Portage High School and junior high school basketball coach 1956-1969; inducted into Indiana Athletic Trainers Association 1991.
Wife, Marie; children, Cheryll (Dennis), Randy (Denise), James (Any), and Karen; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Merit Contributor - Athletic Trainer: Beginning in 1969 at Portage, developed one of the first athletic training programs at the high school level in Indiana; continued to serve in that capacity until his retirement in 1990; served as athletic trainer at numerous football camps, including the North-South All-Stars Football Game; served as a clinician at many training seminars for coaches; served as an examiner for National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification for many years.
