Coaching Experience: Coached 20 years at East Chicago Roosevelt HS 1937-1957 with record of 142-39-7; had a winning percentage of .755; after first 4 years, never again had a losing season.

Coaching Honors: 6 undefeated, untied seasons ( 3 years were consecutive); 5 additional seasons with just 1 loss; 6 mythical State Championships 1945, 1946, 1947, 1949, 1955, 1957; 10 Conference Championships or Co-Championships; won every Northern Indiana High School Conference Play-off game played; won 31 games in a row and went 34 games without a loss between 1944 and 1948.

Outstanding Players Coached: Coached 34 different players to first team All-State honors in the line during last 15 seasons coaching; a number of other players were awarded second team and honorable mention honors.
