Member of 1967 Big 10 Co-Champions; played in Rose Bowl 1968; 3-year varsity letterman; 2-year starter as offensive guard and center; co-captain 1970; Academic All-Big 10; received Jack Gimbel Award, recognizing distinguished athletic accomplishment, scholarship, and outstanding mental attitude; a back injury ended his playing career in the Fall of 1970; served as IU graduate assistant 1971.
