Nick enjoyed being a volunteer youth U6 football coach and youth football camp advisor. He also was active in FCA and NHS programs while at Highland.
Nick graduated from Highland with Summa Cum Laude Academic Honors.
Johnsen was a four-year letter winner and Varsity football player for Highland. He was a Captain and team leader for the Trojans. Nick earned many prestigious awards, starting with Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Best Mental Attitude Award, moving to First Team All -Conference-Junior and Senior years, First Team All- Area as a Junior and Senior, All State-Junior and Senior years, NCC Defensive Player of the year as a Senior, Region 1 All Star as a Senior, and the Indianapolis Colts Academic All Star Award as a Senior. Nick also led the NCC conference in tackles his Senior year with 155
He will be continuing his academic career, majoring in Finance, while playing D1 Football at Valparaiso University.
