Tyler has been a Lifeguard at the Duneland Family YMCA, and he assisted in physical education classes and tutored students as an intern at Chesterton Middle School. Over his four years Tyler has been active and involved in the local "Rebuilding Duneland Together" where he has volunteered to clean-up, help fix and provide helping hands in our Duneland Community for five of the past six years. Tyler currently works as a Youth Flag Football Coach for the Valparaiso Parks Department. He has volunteered with the local Duneland Boys and Girls Clubs of America. In addition, he has worked the high school youth football camps for five straight years.
Tyler finished at Chesterton High School in the Top 20% of his graduating class, consisting of almost 500 students with a 3.9 G.P.A. Over the course of his four years in high school he has been on the Principals Honor Roll or High Honor Roll every single grading period. Most recently, Tyler was named to the IFCA Academic All-State Team.
Tyler was a four-year student-athlete in football, and participated in a variety of other sports including Track, Golf and Swimming and Diving. He earned a total of 6 letters and was a Captain in football. During his four years of high school, Tyler was named the Offensive Most Improved Player his Junior year, Outstanding Receiver his Senior year and earned multiple Offensive Players of the Week recognitions.
Tyler plans to attend Valparaiso University in the fall where he plans to major in Environmental Science and continue his playing football.
